The Wildcats opened their league campaign with a hard-earned 2–0 victory away at Doverhouse, showing a fantastic response to the previous weekend’s difficult County Cup defeat against Claygate.

With some teams already four games into their league season, we have a little catching up to do. Despite a few changes through holidays and availability, the girls arrived with a positive attitude and plenty of determination.

That approach helped us take a 1–0 lead into half-time, giving the team a solid platform to build on.

Doverhouse provided a physical challenge, and we had to compete throughout. Positive runs down both wings gave us attacking outlets, while real control in the middle helped us retain possession and build our attacks. The girls showed determination against some much bigger opponents.

Our fullbacks remained solid throughout the second half, helping the team withstand pressure. A second goal gave us a deserved cushion as we moved towards a winning start to our league campaign.

There was still one final challenge right at the end, when Doverhouse were awarded a penalty. A superb save capped a commanding goalkeeping performance, with our defence reacting quickly to clear the rebound and preserve the clean sheet.

This was a performance built on contributions across the team. The girls supported one another, competed well and showed the belief needed to respond to a tough setback. Well Done Everyone!!!
