After a heroic performance last week against Teddington Thunder, the Wildcats are back in action this weekend as we take on Teddington Firebirds in the league trophy. Despite facing a team five divisions above us, the Wildcats showed incredible heart, narrowly losing 2-0 in a game that could easily have gone our way.
Last week’s performance was a true testament to the team’s progress. The girls kept their composure, battled hard, and created at least five clear chances that, on another day, would have found the back of the net. It was a display of resilience, and with a bit more work on linking midfield to attack, the goals will surely start flowing. The Wildcats proved they can compete with tougher opposition, and that’s a huge confidence boost as we head into this week’s fixture.
We’re up against Teddington Firebirds, a team from our own division, making this a more evenly matched contest. The focus will be on carrying forward the momentum from last week, staying disciplined, and taking those chances when they come. The girls know what they’re capable of, and if they bring the same level of effort and determination, we can get the result we deserve.
As we prepare to face another Teddington side, let’s remember that our performance last week was filled with positives. Let’s take that belief, channel it into our game, and show what the Wildcats are all about!
